Praying for National Stabilization through December 19, 2016

We are encouraging the intercessors of the nation to pray to keep the nation stabilized through December 19th.  There are two issues that need our ongoing prayer:

  1. A possible recount of the electoral college. You are probably aware that Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate for president, is raising money for a recount in three states, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Hilary Clinton, the Democratic candidate, is now joining in on the demand for a recall. Money is being raised to pay for these recalls and millions have been raised. Recounts have changed state election results, but never a federal one.
  2. The Electoral Count proceedings. It is possible, but not likely, that a recount could affect the landscape of the Electoral College. However, this has been an usual election cycle. While we must pray for these two issues, it is critical that the eyes of the intercessors must focus, in a large way, on the following for the Electoral College.

God gave warnings, as early as 2008 by Chuck Pierce, concerning the need to watch this electoral college. He recently prophesied that we must watch  for the next ten days. In fact, these are tumultuous times where we cannot relax in our fervent intercession for the nation.  Many are not aware of the mechanics of the way the electoral college functions. It is designed to give each state a voice in the election.

Here is a quick rundown:
December 13th

  • States must make final decisions known, over the appointment of their Electors, at least six days before the meeting of the Electors. This is so their electoral votes will be presumed valid when presented to Congress.

December 19th

  • The Electors meet in their states and vote for President and Vice President on separate ballots. The Electors record their votes in six “Certificates of Vote,” which are paired with the same Certificates of Ascertainment. The Electorals sign, seal, and certify six sets of electoral votes. These are sent to Congress.

December 28th

  • Electoral votes (the Certificate of Vote) must be received by the President of the Senate and the Archivist no later than nine days after the meeting of the Electorals.

January 6th

  • The Congress meets in joint session to count the electoral votes.


If a state submits conflicting sets of votes, the two houses acting concurrently may accept or reject the votes. If they do not concur, the votes of the Electors as certified by the Governor of the State of the Certificate of Ascertainment would be counted in Congress. If no Presidential candidate wins 270 or more electoral votes, a majority, the 12th Amendment of the Constitution provides for the House of Representatives to decide the Presidential election. If necessary, the House would elect the President by majority vote.

There have been what is called “Faithless Electors” in the history of the United States, such as in 1836 when 23 Virginian Electors acted as a bloc. Although no such faithless Electors have changed the outcome of any election to date, the 12th Amendment was needed in the election of the Vice President under Martin Van Buren, as the result of “Faithless Electorals.”Richard Johnson, Van Buren’s VP pick, lost by one as the result of them changing their votes. This caused the need for the 12th Amendment to be invoked and it went to the Senate where Johnson won by one vote. Although he was confirmed, this caused Johnson to be a political embarrassment to his party. It is important to understand the workings of the governmental process and that we pray for order to keep the ship of state steady in these times.

We must pray for the Electoral College and Electors. We must cry out to God to unify our nation, as well. The need to appeal to heaven has not diminished since the election. Let us raise our voices to the God of the nations to send mercy upon us now more than ever.

Praying for St. Cloud, Minnesota

Be in prayer for St. Cloud, MN.  Pray for the residents of this city and particularly those that are victims of the St. Cloud Mall stabbings on Sept. 17.  There were 10 people that were actually stabbed but countless more that were traumatized by the violence and terror that was unleashed that day.  Many have said that St. Cloud will never be the same.  But we say, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow and this is what our cry needs to be in prayer for the people of St. Cloud; that Jesus will be more real now than ever before.

 

  • Ask the Lord to heal the wounded physically and heal them emotionally from the trauma they experienced. This is something most of us cannot imagine living through.
  • Read Psalm 91 out loud as a prayer of protection over your area and over the nation.
  • Ask the Lord to post an angelic guard over your city, for Psalm 127:1b says, “Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.” Ask Him if there is anything preventing His protection, such as current or historical sins of violence. If He reveals something to you, or you already know of something that could be a hinderance to His grace, identificationally repent just like Daniel did in Daniel 9.
  • Ask the Lord to post an angelic guard over your community. Psalm 37:4 says, “The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them.”
  • Decree that every plan and plot of violence and terrorism being formed in darkness will come into the light and that law enforcement will be led to their hideouts before any harm can come to any more innocent ones.
  • Proclaim grace, grace, grace to this mountain of violence! It must come down!


Praying for Dallas, TX / Deadliest incident for U.S. law enforcement since September 11, 2001

Generals International has prepared this prayer alert:

Creation groans. Our spirits groan.

In the midst of it all, these words are churning in our hearts:
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:21-23; NIV)

We are asking you to pray with us today. We don’t know how to solve the problems or heal the aches, but the Holy Spirit does. We need His wisdom, revelation, and compassion to overwhelm all of our hearts.

  1. Pray that the flood of violence would stop. The enemy wants to bring chaos and destruction, so cry out for a standard to be raised against him. (Isaiah 59:19)
  2. Pray for every hidden plot to be exposed or stopped in its tracks. (Matthew 10:26)
  3. Pray for peace in our communities, that trust would be restored between the public and law enforcement. (James 3:18)
  4. Pray for supernatural protection for all law enforcement. We also bless them with increased wisdom and discernment as they carry out their duties. (Proverbs 3:26; 2:11)
  5. Pray for the injustices experienced by the minorities in our nation, especially the black community, to be exposed and dealt with. We ask for a release of healing, reconciliation, and renewal. (Psalm 103:6; 2 Cor. 5:18, 19)
  6. Bind a spirit of division, and loose a spirit of unity. Across all lines—racial, denominational, regional, etc.—pray for people to come together in grace and compassion, setting aside selfishness and seeking to understand each other. (Phil. 2:2; Col. 3:12-14)
  7. Pray for the voices of those speaking wisdom, truth, and sound solutions to be amplified; pray for the voices speaking foolishness, hatred, and division to be silenced. (Prov. 4:7; 1 Peter 2:15)
  8. Pray for all of those who are grieving over the loss of loved ones to be comforted. (Psalm 23:4)

We know that prayer is powerful, and we are grateful that we can stand together in intercession. We also encourage you to engage in practical actions that will bring healing and reconciliation. Whether it’s as simple as intentionally carrying out random acts of kindness for people, or more in depth, like increasing involvement in your community at any level, allow the Holy Spirit to strategically lead you and place you where you can be His hands and feet to the hurting people around you.


 
Praying for Orlando, FL / ISIS attack at nightclub

49 killed, 50+ wounded

Sunday, June 12th an attack occurred in the early morning inside the Pulse gay nightclub Orlando, Florida. 49 people were killed and more than 50 wounded by a lone gunman who called 911 in the middle of his rampage stating that he was representing ISIS in his attack. ISIS later acknowledged this. Read more here

Take a walk around your block or downtown and join us in interceding for the following:

  • Pray for the Lord to comfort the hearts of family members and friends who lost loved ones in the act of terrorism in Orlando.
